Fiona turned 3 years old on Sunday. She has an outsized attitude, though, more like a stubborn mule, usually regarding food. 'My not like chicken pot pie. My not eat it. My eat mac and cheesie. That it.' Or her comment about this evening's meal, chicken fajitas, seen above and below. ' My not yike onions. My not eat onions. My not cut onions.' She used to eat anything that was put in front of her. Now she is more like her mom when I was little. I'd only eat white food. Bread, rice, noodles, potatoes.

First, this post makes me miss you guys.
Second, she sounds an awful lot like Freya, I found an old post on my blog the other day (I was looking for something else) in which, upon being told to eat her dinner, Freya informed me that, "I'm done and it's done."
And third, she reminds me of another second child, my friend Melissa's three-year-old daughter Amelia, who was not at all pleased that I was babysitting for her last Saturday and gave me the silent treatment for three hours.
I know this sounds childish, but I'm convinced that the key to dealing with stubborn children is to show that that you can be even more stubborn and outlast them. At least that's my approach... there's probably a better way.
